About E Ravi Shankar

From a production engineer who detested computer science during college days, to a business professional who enjoys solving business problems using data by applying data science techniques and visualizations, it has been one heck of a corporate journey of close to 8 and half years.I always enjoy learning new things in life and my recent addiction is data science. Being a self learnt programmer by accident during my BHEL days, where I revamped the entire workflow of engineering and design by creating API's in C#.NET thereby saving the company close to 2 Cr/annum, I guess that was the starting point for me in this remarkable journey.But the learning plateaued after sometime. Hence against all odds, I decided to quit my job in BHEL and pursue a managment degree at IIM Calcutta. And that's where I got introduced to the concept of data science and the potential value addition of data science to the business. Since then there was no turning back I guess.It's been 3 years of a roller coaster journey. From learning the nuances of business at IIMC, learning plenty of new things in the data science universe including languages and tools like Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI and concepts like Machine Learning, Deep learning, NLP, Computer Vision. I enjoyed learning each and every tool and concept. And still learning everyday.I love creating stories using data and Tableau has been the go to tool for me any day. I have used Tableau to create interactive dashboards in Tableau during my freelancing stint in Medall Healthcare and obtain insights about patient healthcare data. I am also proficient various other digital technologies like Microsoft Powerapps, Microsoft PowerBI, PowerAutomate, UIPath, Outsystems, wherin I use all these technologies to enable clients of my current organisation @Arcadis to drive the digital transformation.So yeah.
