Eric Baron, Founder of Eric Baron Consulting, LLC Eric Baron and his team have been training salespeople and sales managers for over 35 years. Eric co-founded what eventually became The Baron Group in 1981. The Baron Group was sold to Ariel in 2013. Eric spent five years assisting with the integration and has now left to form the new company.. Historically, their programs included Consultative Selling Skills, Innovative Team Selling, Negotiation Skills, Coaching for Improved Sales Performance and Sales Management 101.Eric spent eight years at Union Carbide, holding positions in sales, sales management and marketing, before joining Synectics® Inc. where he researched and taught creative problem solving, innovation and teamwork. At Synectics he became intrigued with the similarities between problem solving and selling which led to his founding The Baron Group.Eric is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School. He has taught his popular course, Entrepreneurial Selling Skills, to second year MBAs for over 15 years, and in 2009 was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award. His third book, Innovative Team Selling, published by John Wiley & Sons, was released in May of 2013.Eric and his wife of over 40 years, Lois, live in Weston, CT. They have two grown daughters, Andrea and Deborah and four beautiful grandchildren, Logan, Sage, Jonah and Tess.
