My research interests and experience span a wide range of topics including primarily microbiology and then biological applications of materials. More specifically, two current focus areas of my work: (1) developing DNA and protein vaccines against Respiratory Syncytial Virus and (2) enhancing delivery of vaccines with nano-materials. Also, my early work focused on understanding the antimicrobial activity of natural antimicrobials against food borne pathogens and, development and applications of biopolymers containing antimicrobials on food spoilage molds. I have extended experience in basic and sophisticated molecular and microbiological techniques.
