About Erdi Şenol
I started my professional career with a long-term internship at Kontrolmatik. During this period, I participated in automation control projects, actively contributing to the commissioning of the projects. In the final semester of my undergraduate education, I worked as a sales and application engineer at Enovas Engineering. In this role, I provided sales and application support for National Instruments hardware and software solutions, offering comprehensive solutions from start to finish for academic projects. Additionally, I assisted academics in developing their projects using LabVIEW. During this time, I also completed my master's degree in mechatronics.After four years of work experience, I decided to leave my position in the private sector and pursue a career in academia. I started working as a laboratory engineer at MEF University, where I provided technical support for the laboratories and assisted in laboratory courses. Simultaneously, I began my PhD studies in mechatronics engineering at Yıldız Technical University. Running the lab courses helped refresh my undergraduate knowledge and skills. I also provided engineering consultancy for undergraduate students working on their final year projects.During my PhD studies, I took courses on advanced control techniques and focused my research on autonomous driving. Although I successfully passed the PhD qualification exam, I took a break during the thesis stage to embark on a one-year tour of South America. During this time, I joined Acrome Robotics as part of a Horizon 2020 project. Initially, I worked at NTNU on the development of a VR system for zebra fish brain studies. Later, I collaborated with Forth Crete to develop Python-based software for a rodent signal measurement system. Currently, as part of the same project, I am working at UFL Whitney Lab on the design of a mechatronic system that includes a VR system and a water drainage mechanism for a tank.
