Driven by a deep-rooted passion for creating innovative solutions that make a meaningful impact, my journey in chemistry began in high school and has since evolved into a focused dedication to the biomedical field. I hold two Bachelor's in chemistry and chemical engineering and a Master's in biomedical engineering, which have shaped my expertise in developing materials that drive advancements in healthcare.During my master’s at UBC, I spent +3 years gaining hands-on research experience in "Synthetic Organic Chemistry", "Polymer Synthesis & Characterization", and "Developing Blood-compatible Materials". This research allowed me to explore how novel biomaterials can be designed for various applications, including drug delivery, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine, to address complex medical challenges.I’m particularly excited about opportunities where I can apply my expertise to develop cutting-edge solutions that address unmet healthcare needs. By combining material science with biomedical engineering, I aim to contribute to innovative therapies that help fight diseases, improve treatments, and enhance patients' quality of life.Key Expertise:• Synthetic Organic Chemistry (Schlenk Technique, NMR, FTIR)• Polymer Synthesis and Characterization (GPC, NMR)• Blood-Compatible Materials (Biocompatibility Assays)• Analytical Chemistry (AAS, ICP-MS, UV-Vis, HPLC)

FacilitatorSteamoji, Inc. Jul 2024 - PresentAs a facilitator at Steamoji Academy, I mentor and guide apprentices through engaging in hands-on STEM missions. I ensure they correctly apply core concepts and use tools and equipment safely. I also oversee the project-solving process, providing ongoing support and feedback to ensure successful learning outcomes. In addition to guiding apprentices, I create video artifacts from apprentices to document their progress and share insights with their parents, fostering clear communication about their child's development. I also contribute to the organization of academy operations, including maintaining a clean and safe workspace and collaborating on the continuous improvement of the academy’s processes to create a positive and efficient learning environment. -
Graduate Student Research AssistantThe University Of British Columbia Sep 2021 - Dec 2024Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaDuring my master’s research at UBC, I focused on the synthesis and characterization of biodegradable, pH-responsive hyperbranched polyglycerols. I designed and optimized these novel polymers using advanced organic synthesis techniques, such as NMR, GPC, Schlenk line, and classical chromatography. To evaluate their biocompatibility, I conducted a series of in vitro assays, including platelet activation, red blood cell lysis and aggregation studies, clotting time tests, and endothelial cell viability assessments. These tests demonstrated the excellent blood and cell compatibility of these materials, confirming their potential for applications in drug delivery systems, tissue engineering, and other biomedical applications. -
Instrumental Chemical TechnicianArian Fan Azma (Afa) Jan 2021 - Jul 2021Tehran, Tehran Province, IranI measured the concentration of heavy metal ions in different samples, such as wastewater, Industrial solid/liquid wastes, agricultural soils, etc., using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). I also had the chance to learn the ICP-MS technique from my colleagues.

Bachelor'S Thesis, Chemical EngineeringSharif University Of Technology Jan 2019 - Jan 2020Tehran, Tehran Province, IranWe investigated the physical adsorption of heavy metal ions (e.g., Copper(II), and Iron(III)) from wastewater samples using nanodiamonds as adsorbents. The primary objective was to evaluate the kinetics and efficiency of the adsorption process. We used UV/Visible and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) to analyze and quantify the adsorption of metal ions. The surface properties of nanodiamonds were modified through high-temperature oxidation to enhance their adsorption capacity, optimizing their effectiveness in removing contaminants from the samples. -
Student InternIran Polymer And Petrochemical Institute (Ippi) Jul 2018 - Sep 2018Tehran, Tehran Province, IranDesigning biodegradable scaffolds (with good mechanical properties) for tissue engineering applications through synthesizing PLGA-based microspheres. I helped my lab supervisor synthesize porous PLGA microspheres using the double emulsion technique. We examined the morphology of the synthesized microspheres by SEM. -
High School Chemistry TutorSalam Sadeghiyeh Private High School 2015 - 2017Tehran, Tehran Province, IranIn this part-time job and as a tutor, I taught basic Chemistry to high school students making them prepared for the university entrance exam (Konkur) in my home country.
