Lead our work to address hunger and its root causes across 18 counties in Northwest North Carolina. Second Harvest is privileged to support a network of 515 partner agencies' programs and collaborate with dozens of community and regional organizations to implement solutions to the challenge of food insecurity and hunger in the region we serve. Through the generosity of our grocery partners, individual donors, foundation supporters, and corporate partners, our $60+ million budget enables us to provide over 32,000,000 meals to more than 163,000 individuals annually and implement training and education programs that are helping thousands of people achieve greater independence and gain skills they need to live a healthier life. It is my honor to lead an amazing staff team and work with a dedicated board of directors to advance our work and create new solutions on behalf of the 2,000,000 residents across Northwest North Carolina.

In the Organizational Planning & Evaluation course, students are guided through an array of exercises and learning opportunities to develop their strategic thinking abilities and then move into an exploration of strategic planning and evaluation. The work around strategic planning and evaluation is brought to life through a wide-range of case studies and involvement with local nonprofits.Through the Nonprofit Management and Governance course, I review key and emerging issues in effective management and governance within nonprofit organizations. Interactive experiences with local and national (and even international) nonprofit organizations is integrated into the curriculum to ensure an understanding of 'real life' issues and challenges of leading a nonprofit as a staff member and volunteer.
