I am not leaving the industry, just… Show more I am excited to announce that after 25+ years in this industry (quarter of a century - wow that went fast!) and 20+ years with Pie Consulting & Engineering, I have reached "halftime" and at this inflection point have made the decision to transition to the next chapter in my life. I want to thank all of the incredible partners, employees, clients and industry colleagues that I had the pleasure to work with and alongside for the 25+ years. I am not leaving the industry, just transitioning to where I believe I can be of greater value to others and my personal life vision.Having started from the bottom on the operational/technical side of the business and transitioning to an owner with over 12+ years in an executive/principal role, I have been blessed with the ability to experience everything it takes to grow a professional services firm from just under $5.0M to over $25.0M in total sales (and from approximately 25 to 120 staff). Throughout this time I developed and lead plans, teams, and processes that have returned over 400% overall growth with an average annual organic growth of over 17.5% every year for the last 10 years (including throughout COVID). My 2nd half will be devoted to being a husband, father, and friend as well as re-directing what I have learned (including where I have failed) to helping others over the course of what will hopefully be the next 47 years in my life.I will be starting my own practice to specifically assist other businesses leaders (both within the AEC industry as well as other markets) and some targeted non-profit/charitable groups in the areas of improving their business and organizations in the areas of Sales, Leadership, and Strategical & Tactical Growth.I will be staying in Denver until approximately Aug of 2022 at which point my wife and I will be moving full-time to the low-country just outside of Charleston, SC.More to come... Eric was promoted to the Vice President of Building Sciences in 2016 and continued to help lead the growth of Pie’s building science services back into the public/private sector across all offices and regions. During this time, Eric was also instrumental in the launching of Pie's service expansion with a number of marquis clients into northern California market.

In 2008, Eric was provided the opportunity to launch a new Building Sciences service line group for Pie to specifically focus on providing building enclosure consulting and commissioning (BECx) to owners, architects, and general contractors on the front end of new construction projects. While most of the U.S. was experiencing a recession between 2008 and 2012, Eric helped lead the expansion of Pie’s building science services into the federal market sector resulting in both a positive net… Show more In 2008, Eric was provided the opportunity to launch a new Building Sciences service line group for Pie to specifically focus on providing building enclosure consulting and commissioning (BECx) to owners, architects, and general contractors on the front end of new construction projects.
