I had the honor of filling this role while my amazing colleague Sandra Shewry was on leave serving as acting director of the California Department of Public Health.

I work with a select number of clients in the cause sector to help them make make social and environmental change faster. I distill the ideas that matter most. I develop messages and strategies that bring those ideas to life for the most relevant audiences. And I build the capacity of my clients so that they can make a bigger difference even after I am gone. While I am an independent consultant, I rarely work alone. I am honored to be part of an incredible network of cause communications pros. I have the flexibility to collaborate with other individuals and agencies in different ways. At the end of the day, team work makes the dream work, even when you are a sole proprietor.

From January 2014 through March 2015, I served an an in-house consultant to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation functioning as a Senior Communications Officer for their Strengthening Vulnerable Children and Families Program. It was an extension of my role as Senior Vice President at Fenton, where, during that time period, I also continued to oversee all of the agency's work with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
