Eric Arndt has over ten years of experience in policy analysis, public relations, project management, and stakeholder engagement. He currently supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. His responsibilities include the review of proposed appeals to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and the relevant appropriations bills, coordination of legislative proposals to the NDAA, tracking of congressional reporting requirements, and supporting staff for upcoming hearings. Additionally, he provides input to the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Statements of Administration Policy focusing on the NDAA and Defense appropriations bills. Eric was previously the Senior Policy Analyst for a nonprofit, the Addiction Policy Forum, where he analyzed federal actions to help advocate for those struggling with a substance use disorder. Additionally, he coordinated the planning and execution of Addiction Policy Forum's virtual National Leadership Conference which hosted over 800 attendees and included speakers from the DEA, NIDA, NIAAA, and Congress.Prior to his role with Addiction Policy Forum, Eric served in multiple offices on Capitol Hill. As Legislative Director for former-Congressman Chris Collins, Eric was responsible for supervising the legislative team to ensure the Member of Congress was prepared for votes, meetings, and press events. As a Legislative Assistant for former-Congressman Frank LoBiondo, Eric served as the primary staffer handling legislation focused on immigration, our nation's tax code, telecommunications, and trade policy.Eric also spent over two years with Senator Pat Toomey assisting with the fiscal policy portfolio. He prepared briefing material and questions for the record for hearings before the Senate Finance Committee, the Senate Budget Committee, and the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. In addition to his public policy experience, Eric serves as a family liaison for Barton International - a family-owned company that has produced the world's highest-quality garnet abrasives for over seven generations.
