Hired to Aberdeen in May 2020 as a software engineer. Aberdeen was acquired by Spiceworks Ziff Davis in November 2020.Modernized legacy Hadoop/Spark processes to Snowflake/Matillion pipeline to reduce cost, decrease runtime, and increase long term maintainability.Lead development and database administration of monthly data processes for firmographic reports grouped at site level using SQLServer. Developed notice and choice opt out system using AWS S3, Cloudfront, Lambda and SES to handle automatic sending of emails and removal of data on request.Improved PySpark application by implementing business matching logic to link contacts to businesses with high quality.Deployed and monitored machine learning applications developed by the data science team. Aberdeen uses Big Data Analytics to pinpoint B2B in-market buying organizations. Its Amazon Web Services (AWS)-based Intent Engine segments, by category, billions of daily interactions to produce intent data used to target qualified buying opportunities. Aberdeen’s technology includes a proprietary DSP tightly coupled with its IQO data. I developed automated delivery mechanisms for weekly reports we provide to clients, coded a Python package repository for proprietary code, and updated and optimized internal tools used in the DSP. Finally I developed a prototype for an unsupervised machine learning algorithm to detect fraud.

Helped professors by grading, providing office hours, and teaching labs. I conducted discussions in a class called The Social Implications of Computer Processing, about ethics in the computer science world. Furthermore, I graded homework and tests, held office hours weekly, and taught labs about Java, for a class called Object Oriented Design Principles which was for computer science beginners.

Conducted a research project with other interns and the Office of Policy about newer, more efficient, forms of infrastructure. Interviewed experts and used case studies to develop a report with recommendations to the DOE. The abstract for the final report reads:"America’s infrastructure is in poor shape and requires substantial investment. An innovative approach termed flexible infrastructure promises to better meet the dynamic needs of communities in the future. Unlike traditional infrastructure, flexible infrastructure is multi-purpose and adaptable to changing demands over time and space. We explored the characteristics of a wide range of types of flexible infrastructure, including green roofs, electrical microgrids, and intelligent traffic systems. We characterized infrastructure based on stakeholder type, market maturity, and the risk and benefit streams. We concluded that federal, state, and local governments need to do more to incentivize and regulate the introduction of flexible infrastructure."
