Eric Atkins has over 15+ years of quality control/ quality assurance experience in the civil construction and hot mix asphalt industry. He spent over 5 years as a quality control technician providing research and technical services for the Hot Mix facilities at Graniterock in Central California . He was provided quality control of aggregate, PCC and HMA on numerous projects on City, State, and Federal projects (SFO and SJC airport). Eric was responsible for testing all plant production and shipping materials in every phase of operation and shipment along with all mix designs and forensic investigations. Assisted in maintaining AASTHO and Caltrans accreditations, through lab calibrations and documentation. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Eric Atkins was the QC Manager for Papich Construction/Sierra Pacific Materials for 2 years. In this role he worked with the aggregate, and hot mix asphalt production facilities in testing, reporting, and analysis review for all products produced. He is responsible for the design and shipment of custom materials. He was responsible for the training, growth, and development of the resident quality control technicians at the aggregate quarry and hot mix asphalt facilities. Reviewed Specifications and Plans to make recommendations on products needed for project bids. Review all test data for all production plants. Work with the sales team for project submittals.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Eric has over 10 years of quality assurance experience, through providing consulting services on Caltrans various projects in D5.Current Daily Responsibilities:-Assist RE's interpretation and enforcement of material related project specifications-Provide material data forensics when partnering with Industry to resolve testing disputes on projects.-Participate in Caltrans internally working groups for improving CEM forms and material specification changes.-Provide material and QA testing of various construction materials for all aspects of Caltrans projects. -Help train and educate staff on test method interpretation and new and upcoming changes to material testing.-Assist in maintaining AASTHO and Caltrans accreditations, through lab calibrations and documentation.-Provide 109 certifications for material production plants/facilities through Caltrans MPQP program.
