Since 2017, I've recruited, shaped, and led an award-winning division of 25+ highly talented PR/comms professionals at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where I started as a public affairs specialist in 2011. Before that I served 25 years in the Army Reserve and National Guard, including wartime deployments to Saudi Arabia in 1991, Kuwait in 2003, and Iraq in 2010-11, where I was the public affairs officer for U.S. Division - South during a critical period of political and military transition. I'm a graduate of the Defense Information School's Public Affairs Officer Course and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and I have a B.A. in history, M.A. in political science, M.F.A. in creative writing, and advanced professional certificate in public relations and corporate communications. I'm also an avid writer and photographer with more than a dozen published articles, essays, and short stories.
