As a Technical Team Lead of 5 developers and 2 QA testers, I perform pipeline deployments to team lower dev and qa environments using Azure DevOps and serve as development lead for typical agile ceremonies like refinement, planning and daily stand-up meetings as well as reviewing team pull requests and mentoring junior developers. As a senior UI developer my duties involve developing new and custom features and functionality enhancements, using Angular 10+, on an application used by Insurance brokers for various Insurance companies. I work directly with API developers on integration testing for stories as well as any support issues that require hotfixes. The application uses NGXS for state management and REST API interaction with a C# backend. Implementation of RxJS operators for handling asynchronous data streams and enhancing the applications NGXS redux data store via its state, model, actions and selectors to achieve the desired results. I also work hand-in-hand with backend developers by locally running Visual Studio solutions and SQL databases, troubleshooting and communicating our efforts to build out the new Front-end requirements and the dependencies with endpoints and payload schemas. The main application’s component libraries are PrimeNG and DevExtreme with Bootstrap and PrimeFlex as the CSS grid/layout solution.

Contributed to several projects during my time as an employee with the client Nationwide Insurance, one of their larger accounts. My roles in each project ranged from front-end architect for an important conversion from AngularJS to Angular 11, to fulfilling daily senior front-end developer programming using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, sass, CSS and html. For the architecture role, I devised and presented the plan to the client on how best to structure the application using best patterns and practices for security and speed. I also played a key role in the plan’s implementation by, working on a larger team, both directly coding main features (i.e., Lazy Loading, Container/Presentation and Abstraction/Core Services pattern) and coding component functionality with heavy usage of Reactive Forms. My role has also been to oversee pull requests by team members to ensure quality of the code developed by offshore resources. Other projects, also for the insurance industry, involved working with NGXS (an Angular centric state management library), feature level coding for new functionality of existing Angular 9 applications, asynchronous micro-service interaction, providing plans-of-approach for other AngularJS conversion projects using strictly Angular 8 – 11 with various libraries like PrimeNG, Kendo, FlexLayout and PrimeFlex name a few. Along with providing development of custom applications in Angular, I happily provide guidance to, and the mentoring of, junior developers in the organization. Other projects have involved third-party contracting roles where my involvement has been to join teams of other contracting companies giving me a broad experience of project onboarding methodologies.

Developed using Angular 11 with NgRx, that predominantly used GraphQL as the main API with some REST microservice calls to a NodeJS API. Day-to-day duties involved programming in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and Sass on a team following a traditional Agile workflow, for an application used by the trucking/supply-chain industry. The team worked in a traditional Agile workflow and held frequent team meetings for pull request reviews in an effort to share knowledge and techniques. I was also tasked to assess the code base and present recommendations to the team for best practices and patterns with respect to Front-end architecture. The application made heavy use of the Material component library and its theming capabilities. Note: Policy shift to in-person requirement forced a shorter than expected duration to this engagement.

As the only native Angular developer on a team of 12, it was apparent from day one that, the project code base was full of anti-patterns, differing code styles and no cohesive architecture. The project is a CRM, ERP scheduling application originally built in AngularJS then, rebuilt (from scratch) in Angular 10 which was dramatically under-scoped, poorly managed and almost void of Angular best practices. The client was ready to litigate and walk away without paying their bill just prior to my arrival. I was tasked with assisting the company in salvaging the project by creating re-usable components using a previously purchased Kendo UI for Angular, use of dynamically built forms and application performance improvements. During the past three months of employment, and applying disciplines for large Angular applications, not only did the client not litigate and walk away, they paid their bill and signed the largest agreement the company has ever been awarded. The efforts my role provided was one of the factors in the success of this project and correcting the architecture it so badly needed.

As a fulltime employee, I am the sole senior front-end developer on our team of 5, producing an Angular 8, progressive web application that harnesses the rapidly expanding I.o.T. (Internet of Things) technology.Designed to provide data analytics, chart building and reporting from our proprietary Big Data insights stream the web application is built with a facilities engineer in mind. A facility would have sensors installed, and with or web application, allow for management and alerting features for these specific locations known as "Smart Buildings". The real time sensors emit temperature, humidity and kWh metrics for climate controlled, HVAC or food handling.I am developing in Angular 8, incorporating NGXS, for state management, Angular Material, Map Box, High Charts and DevExtreme Angular Component libraries. Standard isolated unit testing, widely accepted branching strategies and team code reviews are part of my daily activities along with Agile methodologies for our development life-cycle pattern.

Contracting as a Web Developer I am building a prototype for a major financial institution allowing for data mapping and modeling. Starting with complex JSON objects, outputting a relational mapping table of financial calculations, hierarchical data graphs and data validation to quickly assess profitability and regulatory adherence, are some key features of the project. I am tasked with assessing the needs of client and stakeholder, their conceptual vision for the final product then, designing both external and internal interfaces and developing the application from scratch to completion. I’m responsible for the complete product development (with the exception of a Java backend) both presentation and business layer programming using object-oriented best practice. I’m developing in Angular 7 with a single store architecture pattern (NgRx) for application state management. I’m architecting the application as a whole and developing any required components, directives and services. Additional technologies are Sass, Gulp, Yarn, Material, Webpack, as well as utility libraries like Lodash, RxJS JavaScript 2018.

Contracted as a Front-end Developer, while at Republic Services (NYSE: RSG) I worked on the main customer facing website as well as the Node Js API project that services the RESTful data needs for republicservices.com. The front-end application was a hybrid of Angular JS and Angular 5 with the overall goal of converting it to Angular 5. For the front-end, I developed in JavaScript ES2018 and TypeScript, implemented any required styles and mark-up, created new (and/or enhanced) components, directives and services. Additionally, I made modifications to their Node Js backend as well as created the needed unit test cases for the front-end using Karma, Jasmine, Sinon and Chia. Agile software development patterns, clean-code best practices and stringent code reviews were also strictly adhered to. Utilizing Git repository as well as working with Jenkins, Docker and monitoring using Splunk.

I worked as a valuable team member engineering a large online travel application that sells cruise vacations from all the major cruise lines. I programed in JavaScript ES2015, AngularJS and Angular 6x (I'm very familiar with previous TypeScript versions of Angular as well. I implemented Redux state management (via NgRx) in an effort to move away from an MVC pattern. I performed additional implementation tasks and features common in modern single page applications e.g. the consumption of asynchronous data via REST web services, custom components, directives and internal routing.

Programmed internet-based applications using JavaScript and ActionScript (Flash/Flex) adhering to object-oriented principles for memory optimization, code security and development efficiency. Applications include custom video and media players (Flash and Flex) and interactive quiz games. This involved the daily/weekly use of HTML 4, CSS 2 (early CSS3) JavaScript, ActionScriptAdditionally, I worked directly with clients to assess the marketing/visual direction and produced, from start-to-finish, the approved custom designs. I created custom user interface design both directly and as a consultant to the development department.
