In my role with Club Assist I am responsible for all custom software development, databases, ETL processes, and reporting for our North American businesses. Our projects range from mobile apps used at the roadside by our technicians, customer portals supporting reporting and online ordering, client / server applications used by our route drivers to manage inventory and provide purchasing / ordering functionality, and web applications providing consumer facing fitment details for batteries.Our team is versed in a number of technologies required to support both our legacy and greenfield development. Our main technology focus is currently on Xamarin Forms, Angular, C#, SQL (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS), and PowerBI. We have implemented a variety of systematic improvements over the last several years including implementing a custom JIRA environment with GIT integrations, CI/CD system, coding standards for .Net, JavaScript, and SQL, peer code reviews, team and individual quarterly goals as well as regular 1-1s with everyone on the team. We are constantly reviewing our processes and making tweaks to fine-tune our approach to development as well as sprint and team management through retrospectives and post release reviews.

In my role as Director of Software development with Elegrity I was responsible for the management of the software and database teams. During my time I migrated our team to JIRA providing a custom workflow matching our development processes, implemented an integrated source control system, established a process for providing feedback via code reviews, and provided general management for the development teams. Additionally, as a working manager I also came up to speed on our applications and tools to support the team through code changes as well as working with business analyst teams to establish custom workflows for our customers.

In my role as Director of Business Support Engineering I am responsible for the (in-house and outsourced) development of all internally facing tools for Telogis business units as well as several tools used by our external partners ranging from the billing system, hardware and software provisioning, hardware QA and validation. Overall my team supports a wide range of languages and technologies including PHP, C#, ASP, Angular, Node, Xamarin, XSL/XSLT, Postgres, and Ruby with ongoing greenfield and legacy development. As an internally focused team we frequently coordinate with most of the business units as we work through our Scrum-ish process using JIRA Agile with 2 week sprints, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives.As a working manager I am able to keep close to the code in addition to my people and team management duties. With Telogis there is a excellent program of team and professional development that encourages, among other things, weekly one on one sessions with each of my direct reports along side quarterly goal setting and monitoring allowing us to stay on top of issues as well as encourage the development of my team.

In my role as Vice President of IT I am responsible for managing internal and external software development and business intelligence teams, product and project management of most of our customer facing applications, coordinating with external vendors, and regular interactions with team members from other functional areas including the executive team, customer support, and marketing. Over my time with LifeSaver I have become the key account manager for most of our major US partners and largest customers and all of our international partners. As such I have been involved in all contract negotiations with senior as well as C-level management and have been largely responsible our contract and SOW development.On a regular basis I review our internal processes and tools and as needed implement changes that provide improved productivity and / or a higher quality product that adds value to our customers.
