Senior advisor to locally led effort on assessment, design, management, and evaluation of the USAID Assistance for the Development of Afghan Legal Access and Transparency (ADALAT) project. Mentor local team and CSO partners on development and implementation of the Afghanistan Justice Engagement Model (JEM) to improve the quality of traditional justice services while promoting formal-informal justice collaboration (see Checchi/RLS-I below). Advise second team on design and management of capacity building effort for Ministry of Justice professional service providers, including needs assessments, training model and curricula, legal and procedural reference material, and institutional strategic planning for sustainable dissemination of training programs.-Justice Mapping (Feb-Mar 2016). Advised local effort to assess the informal justice sector in Mali. Contributions included literature review, research model and plan, interview and focus group guides, scope of work for data collectors, substantive consultations. -Business Development / Proposal Writer (Nov 2015, Apr-May 2015, Apr 2014). Researched, conceptualized, and wrote major component of winning proposal for ADALAT. Liaised with key stakeholders, responded to donor queries, member of senior review committee, contributed to other components and proposals.Democracy International, Egypt (four locations) -Political Analyst / Long-Term Election Observer, Medium- and Short-Term Observer (Nov, Feb-Mar 2015, May 2014). Interviewed spectrum of Egyptian political parties, civil society (CSO) representatives, and analysts on the electoral legal framework and political environment. Analyzed data and reported findings. Observed and reported on all phases of polling day procedures for the presidential and parliamentary elections.
