Leading the engineering work as Project Engineer for two EM devices for the KC-46 Centerline Drogue System, and a miniature geared stepper motor for NASA. Activities have included mentoring new engineers, conceptual and detail design work, creating and reviewing drawings, writing and reviewing technical data items, supporting FAA Unit Member review for certification, Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis (RCCA failure analysis), dispositioning nonconforming material, production troubleshooting, and conducting qualification tests.Have additionally reviewed drawings for the Dream Chaser landing gear and provided design and engineering support for a miniature geared motor for a space application.

I worked on dozens of applications for fixed wing and rotary aircraft, spacecraft, ground and naval vehicles, for both commercial and military applications. Production quantities of these units ranged from a single delivery of a handful of units, to thousands per year.Conceptual design work, in proposal and preliminary design phases, considering stress, fatigue, deflection, sealing, corrosion prevention, assembly and piece part manufacturing, use of common/standard parts, reliability, risk minimization, and electromagnetic and thermal properties.Detail design work, including worst case and statistical tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, deciding on the dimension schemes, and the sizing of every single fillet, groove, chamfer and break edge.Created nearly every drawing associated with the projects I worked on, from detail drawings to envelope drawings.Created department-wide tools for performing tolerance stack-ups, summarizing weight and center of gravity calculations, and gear train selection for ideal gear ratio and low transmission errors.Designs have ranged from miniature Ø1" x 1" long precision position sensors, to large 24 lb hydraulically pressurized electromagnetic brakes.See these links for more about the product families I worked on:http://www.woodward.com/motorsandservomotors.aspxhttp://www.woodward.com/PositionSensors.aspxBelow is just a small selection of some of the more interesting projects I worked on.
