About Eric Beal Sr.

I'm a health coach and co-founder of BetterChoices, a health & wellness company and social community focused on educating, advocating, and promoting better health and wellness through lifestyle, nutrition, and fitness education.I am extremely passionate about health & overall wellness. It's personal for me. In 2006, I weighed 400lbs. and I can tell you this. As a result of embarking on a systematic approach to nutrition and activity, I was able to lose 150lbs! That was 10 years ago.For the last 10 years, I've been advocating healthier living through simple lifestyle changes and as a healthy lifestyle coach, helping clients reach their personal health, wellness, & fitness goals. I continue to work with different community organizations, schools, & fitness gyms providing free & fee based classes/group seminars to educate on the importance of healthier living through nutrition.While I'm passionate about health and wellness, I am extremely passionate about food. What I realized early in my process of regaining my health, was my passion & love for food would not change. I am from New Orleans! In order for this to work long term, I knew food was going to be the critical component. The food had to look familiar, taste great, be simple to prepare, and for a family of 4, be affordable. After a lot of recipe reworkings, research, and good ol'fashion trail and error, I co-wrote and self published 2 healthy lifestyle cookbooks. These two books became an extension of the BetterChoices brand. Both releases provided us a platform to gain media exposure through national & local television, radio, print, and online.I'm currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Human Environmental Sciences at the University of Alabama.
