I am the Co-founder and Executive Director of Rubedo Young Adult Transitions, a residential transitional-living program for neurodivergent young adults in Kennebunkport, Maine. With neuroaffirming support at the forefront of our approach, our experienced team of licensed psychotherapists and OTs share a therapeutic milieu with our clients to help them achieve adaptive and sustainable independent functioning in a world that isn't always designed for them. At Rubedo, we facilitate this by balancing a respect of neurotype diversity with sensitive consideration to the inevitability of real-world expectations. In addition to traditional talk therapy, we provide somatic movement therapy, art and music therapy, speech and language therapy, equine therapy, therapist-facilitated DnD, and much more.I am also the Executive Director at Cornerstones of Maine, a multi-location residential transitional-living program for a diverse young-adult population. We assist our clients in achieving successful independence through life-skills coaching, academic support, and intensive psychotherapy. Our dynamic setting includes a therapeutic milieu that allows us to both support and challenge our residents in vivo. My primary conceptual orientation is psychodynamic with a focus on the conflict that arises when our urges and inhibitions oppose. I utilize an integrative approach, as well as a Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) framework to support our clients in building an awareness of their split or fragmented senses of self, the goal of which is to improve ego strength, authenticity, and quality of interpersonal relations. However, not every client finds change through such verbal and insight-oriented means. With this in mind, I meet every client where they are and make use of a highly relational paradigm to facilitate growth through trust and authentic connection.
