Eric has extensive complex commercial litigation experience and has represented clients in white-collar criminal matters, government enforcement actions and internal investigations. Eric provides strategic counsel to his clients facing litigation matters including construction, toxic tort, antitrust, employment, and contract and shareholder disputes. He engages in all aspects of the dispute resolution process, including settlement negotiation, pleading preparation, written discovery and electronic discovery, motion practice, and appellate practice.Eric’s white-collar criminal defense experience includes serving as counsel to a bankruptcy trustee charged with effectuating the liquidation of a major Wall Street investment firm. He has also overseen a client’s national bankruptcy remediation initiative.Eric counsels both public and private organizations through high-profile investigations and enforcement matters. His experience includes monitoring the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Compliance Program of a large, multinational corporation in the oil and gas industry and advising the Monitor of a North American automaker through regular compliance meetings with Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He also assisted in an investigation into the use of E-Rate dollars by an Ohio school district. Before turning to private practice, Eric interned with the U.S. Coast Guard’s Judge Advocate General to analyze complex state and federal statutory issues. In this role, he evaluated the extent of the Coast Guard’s delegated authority, agency funding and fiscal law, and regulatory compliance issues.
