Developed manufacturing processes and work instructions to turn engineering drawings and specifications into fully functional human-rated space flight hardware for NASA’s Artemis program. Utilized a strong working knowledge of friction stir welding, complex composite hand layups, building and testing large mechanical assemblies, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure on schedule delivery of defect-free hardware. Additional responsibilities included performing engineering drawing checks for manufacturability, providing shop floor support by working directly with technicians and other members of the production team nationwide, and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.

Performed feasibility analyses, created detailed models and drawings of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, assembled calculation packets, presented design reviews, performed product testing to ensure tools met their specifications and American Petroleum Institute (API) ratings, and provided support to the shop floor in order to take oil field well intervention tools from initial conception to market ready. Products included wireline and mechanical setting tools and mechanical plugs and packers such as storm valves, cement retainers, bridge plugs, and frac plugs. Additionally, performed failure investigations and created Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports detailing failures and their corresponding corrective actions. Along with engineering duties performed SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM Administration tasks for 50+ users. Task included managing product updates, solving user problems, and updating data cards and workflows.

Responsible for creating and redesigning dump trailers using AutoCAD and Solid Edge. Created custom designs for customers as well as updated existing designs to keep them competitive in the market. Made detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models of products, performed structural calculations, and led design meetings with customers to ensure products met their requirements. Provided full drawing packets and bills of material to the shop for production. Mitigated daily issues as they arose on the shop floor in order to keep the assembly lines running efficiently, including designing new fixtures, jigs, and tooling whenever necessary. Led a team that created a completely custom, one of a kind trailer for a customer's specific needs that reduced their downtime by an estimated 12.5%.
