I supervise the marketing communications area for Texas A&M's student union programming office. Our objectives are to promote participation in our programs, recruit student members, and communicate the positive impact our programs have on student learning to administrators, donors, and potential donors. We are also charged with training our staff and student members so they can execute communications initiatives for their student organizations.As the leader of this area I plan its communications strategy, administer its budget, and direct campaign production and implementation. I supervise one full-time graphic designer, who in turn supervises a part-time photographer and a part-time marketing specialist, both of which are student worker positions. I also advise the MSC Marketing Resource Area student volunteer team.My development and production duties include writing copy for print and electronic materials, including news releases, web, social media, and an online newsletter. I collaborate with the graphic designer in the design of printed and electronic promotional materials including the initial stages of concept development and photo and image selection. In recent years I managed our social media channels but this past year trained and supervised a student volunteer who took on the management of our Twitter and Facebook pages.In 2008 I worked closely with the graphic designer and our IT professionals to redesign our department's web site. Since that time I designed, built, and managed a new web site for our recent renovation project, and am in the process of leading a team on the design and development of a new departmental web site using the Drupal content management systemFinally, I lead the promotion and production of MSC Open House, a semi-annual student organization recruiting fair with a total attendance of 15,000 students and 700 exhibiting organizations.

Coordinated the production and submission of proposal and qualification statements in response to Requests for Proposals and Qualifications from public- and private-sector clients. This task frequently required correspondence with collaborating firms in other industries such as architecture, engineering, public process consultants, and designers.Wrote and edited copy for proposals and qualifications statements, staff resumes, company promotional materials, project reports, professional association award nominations, federal scenic byways program grants, interpretive center copy, project meeting minutes, and the company web site.Designed and produced materials for planning commission interviews, public meetings, and trade show exhibits. Led weekly marketing meetings for the firm's principals and senior staff members.

Established a monthly newsletter and an annual report, which I wrote, edited, designed and produced in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Development Specialist. Photographed program activities and participants for communications materials.Assisted in the management of accounts receivable/payable and the semi-monthly payroll for the organization. I also managed the supply purchasing and accounting process.Purchased and maintained two Apple computer labs for use by the educational programs operated by the organization.
