Taught U.S. History and Honors World History this past year. Built out a robust U.S. History course. Taught A.P. World History and U.S. History. Thoughtfully designed lessons that integrated primary sources and extended student understanding beyond simplistic explanations. I was told by the A.P. students my teaching style made the class “not as overwhelming, but we learned just as much.”

Taught World History and Economics in a hybrid format. Incorporated primary sources and data to push students toward more reflective thinking. Gave prompt and clear feedback which improved engagement. Communicated effectively with parents including holding parent-teacher conferences.

Adapted classes to emergency at-home learning once coronavirus hit. Used our online platform, video recordings, video calls, and parent calls to help students continue their learning.

Taught students who were behind grade-level in their math skills. Helped algebra students across road-blocks in understanding through extra modeling, extra practice, and modified pacing. Adapted testing practices to better help students recover from failure.

Used formative assessment data to determine which kinds of math problems different students needed more practice with. Received positive feedback from pre-calculus students on the clarity I brought to their class. Asked back by the head of the math department and other math teachers to teach their classes.
