Our annual program of work includes Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Security Hardware (Lockshop), Chancery Electronic Security… Show more As part of one-year assignment as Director of a division responsible for the provision of physical security equipment and systems at Canadian missions abroad, I am leading a team of over 50 employees with an annual budget of $20M, providing timely, cost-effective physical security solutions at missions abroad in order to protect people, information, and assets. Our annual program of work includes Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Security Hardware (Lockshop), Chancery Electronic Security Systems (CESS), Personal Safety Radio Network (PSRN), Armoured Vehicle (AV) and Ballistic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Detection & Minor Security Equipment (MSE).• Created a Planning Unit to ensure adequate retention and transfer of knowledge within the Division and related programs considering the rotational nature of many positions in the division, including the Director position. The unit supports the executive office in coordinating, tracking and integrating divisional responses to corporate taskings and various reporting requirements, and coordinating the execution of our annual Program of Work. • Oversaw the creation of a maintenance program for CCTV systems within the department, and re-baselined a significant funding source approved through a 2017 TB submission to enhance GAC’s aging CCTV infrastructure over a 10 year period, including an enterprise CCTV across the network to provide a standard, remotely accessible, state-of-the-art, secure, and supportable solution for use abroad. • Continued to lead bureau-level initiatives such as the implementation of a new integrated system for the planning and reporting of the multi-year programs of work for all divisions, as well as the modernization of the service delivery models, a foundational piece that will impact all aspects of the bureau’s service catalogue and contribute significantly towards achieving the branch vision of improved affordability and sustainability of the mission network.
