I worked with the proposal team to prepare cost and technical proposals for design and development projects. I managed subcontractors and mentored Engineers and draftsman to meet design, cost and schedule requirements. In addition, created designs utilizing PTC's CREO solid modeling software and AutoCAD. Other rewarding tasks were to prepare a operators manual for CNC laser welding equipment and assist with materials testing.

I managed the Engineering Department with best practices for design and development of truck body and trailer components. During this time, I evaluated Engineering staff for performance evaluations and assigned future goals. Additional duties included, create specialized designs, cost estimating, and enhanced MRP system to accurately manage costs and introduce new product selections for the sales group.

While at CTC, I was the Lead Mechanical Engineer of new production methods and equipment set up and installation into Ingalls Shipbuilding fabrication shop including installation and training of shop personnel for operation and programming of a horizontal brake press. I acted as the Lead Mechanical Engineer for the integration of safety equipment and electronic counter measures into the following aircraft: HH60, T6A, F5 and C130. Also, revised electrical schematics for the F5 aircraft to reflect necessary changes. In addition, I prepared proposals including schedule, engineering personnel requirements, materials, and costs estimates

While at Freightcar, I enjoyed working with the team as a Project Engineer managing two production builds. In addition, I had the opportunity to join the analysis group and perform FEA on various cars and components.

I worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer who led and performed design and development of new products, focusing on UAS (unmanned air systems) airframe development and deployment. With the assistance of a great team, we designed and manufactured a UAS in three months. While at API I maintained the CAD software while acting as the Pro Engineer Administrator. I am an expert user of Pro Engineer and Mechanica, but also have extended experience with Solidworks, Ansys, Inventor and Autocadd. In addition, I mentored other engineers by assisting with new designs and problem solving. I also had the opportunity to manage multi-million dollar projects, write proposals, statements of work, and estimate costs.

Product design and development of truck and trailer components using Pro/Engineer, Pro/Mechanica, Inventor, Ansys and AutoCAD. I have a broad knowledge of machining, forming, and welding of steel and aluminum, which assisted me to approve the designs of pressure vessel tanks. I also had the opportunity to lead new product design and development by interacting with customers, sales, engineering teams, and production personnel. One of the most rewarding project was the redesign of a trailer king pin nest to reduce weight while keeping cost and strength in line. I also had the opportunity to design the patented Dynaball latch system for J&J. In addition, I was able to expand the company product line with various new truck body and trailer designs. All while assisting the other users with Pro/Engineer.
