I work in Central Engineering. I contribute and assist with designs in all areas of the Hanford Site in need of additional electrical engineering support. Design Authority(DA) qualified on the Hanford Site. SKM TOOLS certification to perform ARC FLASH calculations. Experience with NEC and NFPA 70E. Power system design which involve drawings which include one line diagrams, panel schedules, electrical site plans and rack details. Perform Electrical risk assessments with use of PTW power tools along with the NFPA 70E.

This is an internship, which I work part time during school, and full-time during holidays. The internship involves research for the Environmental Assessment team at PNNL. Projects including research of components, datasheets, and any general information required for the team for certain projects. Specific Tasks to include:• Working with wiring schematics, wiring specific diagrams drafted by engineers• Electrical training involving 12V DC sources.• Ascertaining knowledge of electrical hardware and which components would be optimal for certain situations. (i.e. wire gauging for certain amperage, connecting wireless networks, and use of relays, circuit breakers and other small electrical components.)

I am excited about the new challenges that will come with this new position, along with the opportunities to learn and grow in my career.Job Description Investigate, evaluate and make decisions regarding member appeals of health plan coverage denials for all Group Health-owned health plans. Appeals may involve issues that are complex, high profile, precedent setting and include legal and/or risk management issues. Investigations include consultation with Legal, Contracts & Coverage, Membership and other various areas within Group Health. Prepare and coordinate physician medical necessity reviews with the Clinical & Quality Review Unit and detailed case summary packets for review by Group Health’s Appeals Committee and external review organizations. Accountable for documenting and resolving appeals, at multiple levels, in accordance with numerous and complex state, federal and voluntary regulatory requirements. In responding to member appeals, coordinators strive to maintain organizational integrity and to enhance/increase overall member satisfaction through appeal resolutions. All investigations and communications are HIPAA compliant.

Process and delegate document requests for member appeals, Office of Insurance Commissioner complaints, received via phone, fax, email and mail.Involves rigorous research for cases which involve: interpreting medical coverage, claims, authorizations, clinical reviews, eligibility, and interpretation of legal documents.Provide guidance about the appeal process and requirements to members, prospective members, providers, other, insurance coverage, agents, brokers, attorneys, employer groups and other member representatives over the telephone or via secure email.This position involves answering high volume of complex verbal communication with members and providers interpreting needs in order to assure a clear and accurate assessment of their issue and assist them in a culturally appropriate manner. Prepare all material for case review in a way that meets regulatory requirements and the needs of the Appeal Coordinator who will investigate and/or consult on the case.
