I am an attorney and partner in Reed Smith’s Los Angeles office and a member of the Life Sciences Health Industry Group, where I focus on product liability litigation involving the defense of pharmaceutical and medical device companies. I act as national, regional and local counsel in various matters and handle cases at the state and federal trial court levels. I help companies manage large complex litigation, including federal multidistrict litigation (MDL), class actions, and coordinated state court proceedings. I have extensive experience with scientific, medical and regulatory issues related to medical products, as well as with all aspects of mass tort litigation including general case strategies, case management, document collection and production, depositions of fact witnesses and experts, dispositive motions and other complex motion practice both before and after trial. I have also served on many high-profile mass tort trial teams involving products such hernia mesh, transvaginal mesh and various pharmaceuticals. I also defend clients in medical monitoring class actions and public nuisance claims related to medical products. My product liability work also extends to non-medical products such as welding products and asbestos. I have also handled general commercial litigation, including alleged violations of state consumer fraud and unfair business practice laws.
