I recently graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering with High Honors. During my time at Georgia Tech, I interned at Thrush Aircraft where I modeled aircraft components in Solid Works, and I was an undergraduate researcher for two years. I worked in the Georgia Tech Space Systems Design Lab on the TARGIT cube satellite mission on the Structures sub-team. I modeled parts and assemblies in Solid Works, tracked requirements, managed volume and mass budgets, and led a team of machine-certified undergraduate researchers in designing and prototyping mechanical sub-systems for our mission. I have been with the TARGIT mission through Concept Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review. I am also proud to have contributed to the first cube satellite ever launched by Georgia Tech, the RANGE mission, by machining some small components that made it onto the flight model of the satellite. My internship and research experience have prepared me for a career in mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and systems engineering, which I hope to begin soon.

Undergraduate Research AssistantshipGeorgia Tech Space Systems Design Lab May 2018 - Dec 2018I fabricated flight hardware for RANGE, a small satellite launched by Georgia Tech in November of 2018. I designed a CAD model using SolidWorks for a mission in response to a NASA request for proposal. I machined a test stand for a cube satellite attitude determination control system using the equipment in the Aerospace Machine Shop. This involved CAD modeling using SolidWorks, machining on a Bridgeport Mill, lathe, horizontal band saw and waterjet, as well as using precise measuring devices such as micrometers and vernier calipers. I also budgeted and planned the fabrication of a $1 million company-sponsored project. In the Fall I also worked on the TARGIT cube satellite mission to prepare the structural design and mechanical sub-systems for our Critical Design Review in December of 2018, which we successfully passed. I spent approximately 20 hours a week during the Summer and 10 hours a week during the Fall semesters of 2018 working as a paid research assistant.

Undergraduate Student ResearcherGeorgia Tech Space Systems Design Lab Jan 2017 - May 2018During my time as an undergraduate student researcher, I worked on the TARGIT (Tethering and Ranging mission of the Georgia Institute of Technology) cube satellite mission on the Structures team. This involved 3D modeling of the satellite and its sub-systems using SolidWorks, designing and prototyping mechanical sub-systems, tracking requirements including the volume and mass budgets, and preparing presentations to panels of NASA engineers. For all but my first semester of research, I served as the Structures Lead, so I also managed a team of undergraduate student researches. This involved coordinating fabricating of prototypes using the equipment in the Aerospace Machine Shop, as well as delegating tasks in order to meet review deadlines. I lead my team from just after our Concept Review, through our Preliminary Design Review, and well on towards our Critical Design Review.

Engineering InternThrush Aircraft, Inc. Jul 2016 - Aug 2016Albany, Ga, UsI incorporated engineering change notices into outdated Solid Works parts and assemblies. This involved reading mechanical drawings, updating existing Solid Works models, and modeling parts or assemblies that had yet to be modeled. I also observed flutter testing and documented manufacturing equipment.
