Providing environmental assessment support under the Environment and Climate Change Canada - Canadian Wildlife Service mandate; the Migratory Bird Convention Act, the Species at Risk Act, and the Federal Policy on Wetland Conservation. Provide comments to environmental assessment applications, develop federal and regional standard documents, organize EA practitioners workshops.

Support the environmental assessment program in reviewing projects and developing advice within the various stages of the process (development of terms of reference, information requests, and review of decision statement and conditions). This work is within the context of the Migratory Birds Convention Act, the Species at Risk Act, and the Federal Policy on Wetland Conservation.

Under the Canadian Wildlife Service branch at Environment Canada, I provide biological and analytical support to the Environmental Assessment team.

Conducted breeding bird surveys as part of the Interior Lower Mainland Transmission Line Environmental Assessment. I followed survey protocol as outlined by the Canadian Wildlife Service. I communicated with various levels including forest operations, managing superiors, company owner, land owners, and fellow biologists. I recorded data and used GPS devices to record information on nests and surveys. Furthermore, data entry, data management, and data summaries were conducted in the office.
