Engineering Manager | Shotgrid Production Tracking And Ecosystem
CurrentEngineering manager for the main Shotgun application and responsible for most front-end development. In 2016 after many years of software development I decided to make a career change and became a manager to try human challenges! As a new manager I grew the team from 4 to 12 front-end web developers in only 18 months! Two QAs were added to my team afterwards. Shotgun is an amazing group at Autodesk! Currently my team is working hard at making our application as easy as possible for new users as well as adding powerful features for our enterprise customers. Our target user is a production manager of a VFX studio.I am playing my role of engineering manager with two hats: PROJECT and PEOPLE:PROJECT: make sure projects are planned and resourced properly. Make sure technical discussions are happening. Make sure designers and engineers are working well together. All that is happening in partnership with the product manager by managing the typical triangle: TIME, RESOURCE and SCOPE.PEOPLE: listen to my direct reports and just help them be happy at work! Help them grow in their career development. Help them on their communication skills. Make sure they have what they need to be successful in our projects. At the same time work with them to define and commit to our engineering excellence standard.Tools : JIRA (with Kanban methodology), Slack, Trello, Microsoft Teams,
