In my former role as the Director of Financial Operations for Northside Hospital, I provide operational and strategic financial leadership to five (5) hospital campuses, Joint Ventures (JVs) and Professional Service Agreement (PSA) Governing Boards. Along with a team of vice-presidents, directors and managers, I lead the efforts to build, enhance and promote various hospital service lines. I am directly involved in the recruitment of physicians, and the development of strategies for various service lines, including orthopedics, neurosciences, internal medicine, cardiology and outpatient services, to name a few. The Financial Operations Department leads the financial health of a five (5) billion dollar healthcare system. As the Director of Financial Operations I serve as the on-site financial resource, focusing on revenue growth and bottom line performance for Northside Hospital's five campuses and its service lines. I provide support to managers and directors across the system in budget development. I work directly with directors and financial analysts in matters pertaining to expense management as needed.I provide support for C.O.N. applications by assisting Department Directors in development of Pro Formas and other supporting documents needed for the completion of the applications.Along with our system VP of Administration and other managers and directors, I lead a monthly of cost center performance against budget. Working with cost center management, provides reasonable, rational explanations for variances.As the Director of Campus Financial Operations, my job is not limited to reviewing numbers and financial statements. I work regularly in matters pertaining to the operations and direction of the hospital and serve as the Administrator-on-call on a monthly basis.I also provide ad hoc financial education for facility management staff to ensure understanding and compliance with Northside's stated budget and financial goals and objectives. In order to provide a proactive analysis of our system's financial health, I provide monthly operational productivity guidance to our leadership teams.
