I work full time as a Staff Psychiatrist with Compass Health, and part-time as a Primary Investigator (PI) and sub-investigator for a medical research company. I am currently licensed to practice medicine (MD) in the states of Florida and Missouri. I also hold an active DEA certificate and am board-certified by the ABPN. I served in the Army for 4 years as enlisted, then another 10 years in the reserves. I graduated from University of Florida with a BA in Russian Language in 1987. I obtained my Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of S Carolina in 1996, and completed my Adult psychiatry residency and Child/Adolescent fellowship from the University of Florida in 2001. Since then I have worked in many psychiatric settings, including outpatient, inpatient, school-based, residential, detox, rehab, nursing home, corrections research and in other settings. I have been continuously licensed and DEA certified since 1998. I worked for the VA from 2013 until retiring from Federal Service in 2021. I have been involved in research since 1998, and in 2014, I joined Combined Research of Orlando, where I have been a Primary and Sub-investigator in dozens of Phase I-IV IRB-approved and monitored trials. I am married to an amazing woman and have 5 children- 3 sons and 2 daughters.
