Main responsibilities include• Processing and filling prescriptions efficiently and accurately• Administer Immunizations (Covid 19-Moderna, Covid 19-Pfizer, Seasonal Flu, TDAP, Shingrix, Pneumovax 23, Prevnar 13, Prevnar 20, hepatitis B,)• Compounding prescriptions (Omeprazole solution, Lansoprazole solution, Baclofen solution, All purpose nipple ointment)• Communicate with prescribers regarding questions or clarifications with prescriptions• Assemble durable medical equipment (DME) such as wheelchairs, transport chairs, walkers, shower seats and provide education and demonstration of the equipment• Offer insight on OTC medications/prescriptions under pharmacist supervision• Verify insurance benefits of patients and pricing of medications/equipment not covered by insurance• Answering phone calls from patients and physician offices regarding prescriptions or medical inquiries• Transferring medications to and from the pharmacy• Operate and perform light maintenance on the automatic dispensing machine• Perform narcotic and controlled substance inventories under pharmacist supervision• Perform Medication Therapy Management services, specifically inquiring about patient adherence to statin regimen for management of hyperlipidemia• Organize and restock all pharmacy supplies

In this APPE internship my role was to compound many medications for patient's that require a compounding pharmacy due to an allergy to an inactive ingredient or other medical reason. I also compounded many medications for animals for drugs that do not have an FDA approved commercially available product.

In this APPE internship my responsibilities were to call patients that were prescribed and receive specialty medications for diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, asthma, Chron’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and breast cancer to follow up with them about their medications to monitor for any adverse events, dosing errors, symptom management, and disease progression while on the medication

In this APPE internship i was able to review renal, anticoagulation, heart failure, and vancomycin trough reports to monitor patient’s lab values and recommend changes in dose or frequency of medications. I was also able to convert patient's from IV to PO dosing, and performed discharge counseling for all patient's being discharged. I was also able to have a case presentation on an actual patient in the hospital, and another presentation on the length of antibiotic treatment for community acquired pneumonia (CAP)
