Aerospace Ground Equipment Journeyman (Aerospace Engineering & Operations Technician)
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on AGE. Inspects, tests, and operates AGE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.Diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publicationsServices equipment with fuel, oil, coolant, water, hydraulic fluid, and air. Operates, cleans, inspects, and services AGE towing vehicles. Maintains vehicle forms. Provides dispatch service for AGE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs AGE. Advises and performs troubleshooting on AGE before assigning repair action. Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions. Prepares AGE for storage and mobility deployment. Solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications. Uses automated maintenance system to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.Analyzes and repairs ground support equipment using conventional and digital multimeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools. Maintains external fuel and grounding systems. Stores, handles, uses, and disposes of hazardous material and waste according to environmental standards.Removes, disassembles, repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and re-installs AGE accessories and component.
Oil Change Technician
• Confer with customers to determine maintenance needs of their vehicles.• Inspect vehicles to determine need for changing oils and filters and provide feedback to customers.• Perform oil checks on transmissions and ensure that they are brought up to the required levels.• Grease bearings, examine repairs and overhaul brake systems according to set standards.• Locate and correct malfunctions such as wheel bearings issues and ignition problems by using dedicated electronic tools.• Tune automobile engines to ensure that they function efficiently and handle repair and maintenance on service components including air conditioners and condensers.• Remove and replace vehicle leaf springs, tail pipes and mufflers.• Ascertain that tire pressure is properly maintained and handle tire rotation and installation duties.• Install new oil filters and drain plugs and ensure that old ones that can still be used are properly cleaned and maintained.• Clean and lubricate fittings and refill fluid levels.• Handle battery replacement and recharging activities and ensure that old batteries are properly disposed off.• Ascertain the general cleanliness and maintenance of tools and equipment used in vehicle maintenance work.
