My tenure with Sunrun was an excellent experience that I am very grateful for. The exposure to the“world” that was created by working alone everyday really opened my eyes to working with newcustomers, and people everyday. I was able to re-mold myself and fit any type of situation and meetmost standards that was required of the customer, or company whether it was high priority or not.(I was employed with Vivint Solar - Sunrun & Vivint merged within a year of my hiring, this made training and understanding required deliverables unclear, and more difficult to accomplish, I went through 3 different supervisors, constantly proving myself, and never saw a pay raise even though I was acquiring licenses, certifications, and new trainings all the time. I did online training modules for training, and then shadowed under a guy for a week and he was fired within a year of me being there, I wasn't set up for success at Sunrun.)

Responsibilities included; clean work truck, responsible behavior on the job site. Work consistently andtake small breaks when needed. I did a lot of dam proofing, and below grade concrete waterproofingwhich would protect the foundation of the building from corroding and having any wear early in itsconstruction. I also did air vapor and water barrier work, this was a more detailed work that required a lotof careful hand work and attention to detail and how to actually seal the building from the air and weather. We worked in 2 man crews usually, and sometimes faced up to 30,000 square feet of work. It wouldtake us a few weeks sometimes even months to finish one project but there’d be days where me andmy guy would bust out over 2,000 square feet of work in a day. I’ve work on colleges, govt. buildings,hotels, condos, etc.Other responsibilities include talking with superintendents, project managers, and assessing andanalyzing projects on my own.

At first it was Myself and the 2 owners of the company. It felt like a lot at first but didn’t mind becauseI felt like I was helping and contributing to build something.We worked individually on commercial job sites and would check in on each other every now and thento see what the work is looking like. So all in all, it was very easy going detailed work, not a lot of micromanagement, but we still had to make sure our work was pristine since we didn’t have a lot of manpower to do a lot of work.Reason for leaving: was told I was a W-2 employee but I was actually 1099’d and the owner of thecompany was never that truthful with me, company is out of business.
