During my time in the Army, I held various positions within the Field Artillery operations. The positions included, loader, driver, Gunner, and Section Chief. I was in charge of 12-45 personnel, at different times, depending on my positions as Section Chief, to when I was promoted and became a Platoon Sergeant. During my service, I deployed five times in support of combat operations. The deployments were to Kosovo (1), Iraq (3), and Afghanistan (1).

Served as a Howitzer Section Chief on a M119A2 towed howitzer, ensuring the operational readiness and accountability of one M119A2 105mm towed howitzer and two M1097 High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), along with all associated basic issued equipment valued at more than $1M. Leadership and Training: Applied training standards and led training on the proper technique of rigging and hooking up of the M119A2 howitzer to prepare it for sling loading. Supervision and Direction: Supervised the activities of six personnel, leading by example and providing for their training, welfare, safety, and development to ensure the highest level of readiness. Iraq Deployment: Served as the Battle Staff Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) for Future Operations Division III Corps in support of United States Forces in Iraq (USF-I), a four-star Joint HQ. Ensured the readiness and accountability of more than $50K worth of equipment.Afghanistan Deployment: Led eight-man Infantry Maneuver Squad in the Nuristan Province, Afghanistan and accounted for the operation and maintenance of more than $500K in assigned equipment. Leadership and Accountability: Oversaw the activities of section personnel; ensured individual and team training; and accounted for weapons, vehicles, and section equipment worth $2.5M. Safety and Security: Provided base defense and entry control, assessed the security situation, performed team patrols, and took appropriate action to protect personnel and assets according to the rules of engagement. Iraq Deployment: Deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, led combat patrols, and accounted for equipment valued at $1.9M; led 165 combat patrols through the most dangerous sector in Baghdad, Iraq.
