Campus Engineering provides professional engineering support for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of all University facilities. Campus Operations maintains and operates critical building systems including fire/life safety systems, elevator systems, building environmental systems and controls, central clock systems, high voltage distribution systems, and a utility shutdown coordination program. Campus Operations also provides emergency maintenance response service to the Seattle campus community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Campus Utilities produces steam, emergency electrical power, chilled water, and compressed air for the campusI provide leadership, plan, schedule, and direct the work of journey level HVAC control technicians; perform skilled work in the operation, inspection, testing, servicing and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic and direct digital controls (DDC) for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) of the complex building systems.I assign and lead assigned personnel in the performance of work, inspect work for quality and completeness; ensure clients are advised when work is complete.I participate in and follow through with Campus Engineering and Operations (CEO) process improvement initiatives (Balanced Score Card, Lean, Idea Systems).I coordinate with Campus Engineering, Capital Projects Office, contractors, Facilities Services trades, building occupants, and other clients to schedule and plan required work.I inspect projects to ensure compliance with local standards and codes and maintain records of work performed and inspect contractors’ work to see that the work is performed to campus specifications.I troubleshoot and resolve operation and maintenance problems of complex building environmental control systems that are both pneumatic and DDC.Control Systems @ University of Washington ; Johnson Controls Metasys (PMI or ADS/ADX), Siemens Apogee, Alerton (IBEX or BACtalk)

Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers through the development and execution of intelligent service agreements and system service. Develop strong customer relationships with building owners, becoming their trusted advisor on system optimization and maintenance. Work in coordination with the Intelligent Service Leader, Energy Engineers, and direct sales team in developing system solutions to help increase energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and equipment life.
