I am a director and part owner of Maple Event Group. We operate one of Melbourne’s leading function venues - Leonda By The Yarra.With a Bachelor Degree in Commerce, experience in some of Melbourne’s best known restaurants, and vast business management experience, I entered into the events industry via a partnership in 2005 at well known event space San Remo Ballroom in Carlton North. San Remo Ballroom has a 650 person capacity and a deep history spanning over 50 years.In March 2006 my wife Carly and I were involved in the takeover ownership of Hawthorn event venue Leonda By The Yarra. Leonda has two separate function rooms with a capacity of 600 and 150 guests. We are heavily involved in the day to day management of our venues and take pride in operating them as privately owned companies. We lead a well established and experienced team of event professionals, consisting of 35 full time and over 120 casual staff. We’ve become known for providing a high quality service and have established a loyal client base who regularly re-book events with us. We operate in the weddings, corporate and social markets and have experienced significant growth in each. We have a great passion for what we do and place as much importance on operating an ethical business as we do on growing the business.
