Eric hails from The Bronx, NY. He graduated from Fordham Preparatory School in 2006 before attending The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Eric majored in English and completed the Teacher Education Program, acquiring his Massachusetts teaching license upon graduation in 2010. After graduating, Eric joined Teach For America and began teaching as a Read 180 instructor at Kelly Miller MS in Washington, DC. While teaching, Eric attended American University, earning his Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2012. Eric transitioned to the Friendship Public Charter School network in 2013, where he served as an English Language Arts teacher for Technology Preparatory Academy, a school in Southeast Washington, DC. While there, Eric led the Summer Learning Academy, Saturday Credit Recovery, and Extended Learning Programs simultaneously. In 2016, he took on the role of Academy Director for Tech Prep's Freshmen Academy and completed the National Principals' Academy Fellowship with Relay Graduate School of Education in spring 2017. The following year, Eric held the role of Resident Leader and supported 3rd-8th grade at Friendship Chamberlain. Currently, Eric continues his work at Washington Leadership Academy PCS as a Principal serving students in 9th-12th grade.Overall, Eric has a strong passion for working in urban education where he mentors students and develops effective teachers in order to benefit the greater community.
