Eric majored in English and completed the Teacher Education Program, acquiring his Massachusetts teaching license upon graduation in 2010. After graduating, Eric joined Teach For America and began teaching as a Read 180 instructor at Kelly Miller MS in Washington, DC. While teaching, Eric attended American University, earning his Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2012. Eric transitioned to the Friendship Public Charter School network in 2013, where he served as an English Language Arts teacher for Technology Preparatory Academy, a school in Southeast Washington, DC. While there, Eric led the Summer Learning Academy, Saturday Credit Recovery, and Extended Learning Programs simultaneously. In 2016, he took on the role of Academy Director for Tech Prep's Freshmen Academy and completed the National Principals' Academy Fellowship with Relay Graduate School of Education in spring 2017.
