Studying the cultivation and metabolic processes of novel soil acidobacteria, specifically those collected from the New Jersey Pine Lands. Cultivation of soils samples under varying conditions to find what different strains grow at different rates and eventually evaluating the different metabolic capabilities of the acidobacteria.

- Planned, designed, and conducted experiments in attempt to isolate and cultivate novel members of the phylum acidobacteriota from New Jersey Pinelands soil. Data was collected, analyzed, an extensive research paper was made and findings were presented to a board of professors at the end of the research. - Experiments included various form of specific media production in order to draw members of the acidobacteriota phylum.- Continuous cell cultures were made and eventually screened using phylum specific primers to indicate positive or negative hits on plates.- PCR utilizing phylum specific primers and DNA sequencing was completed.- Phylogeny was created in order to observe bacterial strains of interest.All information can be seen in more detail in the attached paper.
