Clinical Research Coordinator
CurrentProgram Specialist -Research Coordinator position with the Cooperative Studies Program supports the Million Veteran Program (MVP) is located in the Office of Research and Development, Veterans Administration, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System, New Orleans, LA .These duties include, but are not limited to managing day-to-day activities of MVP, including all actions related to overseeing MVP personnel, enrolling and consenting patients, the proper collection of data, and maintaining records for approximately 4,000 participants per year. Ensures proper collections and shipment of blood specimens, per MVP protocol, by local site Research Assistants. Serves as primary point of contact at the site for MVP with service provides; such as facilities, HR, IT, Fiscal Office, ISO, and Office of Communications. Prepares and submit all necessary documentation to local R&D.Prepares reports and any requested VA programs reports for VA Central Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Office of Research and Development staff. Develops and give presentation on MVP performance and results to local site staff and ORD staff as requested. Develops and participants in public relations activities. Develops and plans for expanding recruitment efforts within Institutional Review Board guidelines and MVP protocol, including working with local site communication office in Veteran outreach programs. Collaborates with Coordinating Center staff to develop and implement public relations strategies. Liaises with the local Office of Communications to manage public relations activities and initiatives through Veterans Administration Central Office (VACO). Engages in initiatives generated by site and VACO.
