Director For R&D And Lean Initiatives
CurrentProvide metallurgical and materials engineering leadership and support on initiatives related to the troubleshooting, improvement and development of products and processes. Coordinate technology roadmap-related internal and external activities of engineering and R&D teams at the divisions to ensure alignment with the overall business strategies. Ensure that technology-related best practices are identified, disseminated and implemented throughout the divisions. Collaborate with internal and external research and development networks including local and global public-private-academic research consortia. Investigate and deploy new disruptive technologies and materials innovations such as additive manufacturing, automation and robotics, IIoT and smart connected factories, and other digital ways of working.Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams empowered to execute the lean strategy for process improvements and for the design and development of manufacturing and transactional systems. Implement lean, continuous improvement and six-sigma philosophy, theory, and application tools and tactics to deliver breakthrough levels of improvement in process capability of production designs and business processes to ensure the reduction of defects and the attainment of world-class levels of quality in products and services. Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use and application of lean and six-sigma tools.
