This stems from the 6 years he has worked in the dairy industry, 12 years he worked in the Queensland sugar industry, managing the land access and acquisition team for the Alpha Coal Project and his upbringing on a family farm in Western Australia.· Eric has considerable experience in the resource and infrastructure industries while at Ausenco. Eric had key roles in a major coal project in Queensland (Alpha Coal) and a copper and gold project (Wafi Golpu) in Papua New Guinea. These projects had major infrastructure that included rail, ports, camps, electricity and water. Also, Eric spent 18 months on the Ramu 2 Hydroelectric project in Papua New Guinea.

Eric’s roles included the Hancock Coal Alpha Coal Project, Newcrest/Harmony Wafi Golpu Project, Santos Narrabri Gas Project, Bidjara Traditional Owners and Ramu 2 Hydroelectric Project. Eric acted as project manager in his various roles at Ausenco which involved managing schedules, deliverables, budgets, cost control, estimating, managing staff, contract management, commercial negotiations, reports, managing contractors and specific technical issues.The Alpha Coal Project is a 30mt per year coal project with capital of over $10b in Queensland. As environmental officer, Eric obtained environmental approvals and permits. As Water Project Manager, Eric managed the development of the water strategy. As Land Project Manager, Eric managed the land team of 14 people and a budget of over $500m to purchase and gain access to land for the mine, rail and port.The Wafi Golpu Project is a major new copper and gold development in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. Eric had 3 concurrent roles on the Wafi Golpu Project which were project manager environment, water and environmental procurement. The Santos Narrabri Gas Project is a major coal seam gas project just south of Narrabri in NSW currently in the planning phase. Eric’s role was to undertake a comprehensive Indigenous engagement program during the planning phase of the project.The Bidjara Traditional Owners are an Aboriginal native title group in south western Queensland. Eric reviewed agreements Bidjara Traditional Owners had to identify employment opportunities for Bidjara people and engaged closely with the Bidjara people.The Ramu 2 Hydroelectric project is the second stage of a major hydroelectric power station in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. Eric undertook environmental and social approvals and wrote impact reports. -

This required Eric to manage the project, understand the key water and environmental impacts and policies related to water availability and pricing, undertake the economic analysis of economic, social and environmental impacts, engage with key local stakeholders and write reports.As Senior Research Officer Sugar, Eric undertook economic forecasts and reports for the Australian sugar industry that included future prices, Australian production and world supply and demand. In addition, he managed a sugar cane survey of around 300 farmers through Australia to examine financial performance. As part of his role, Eric formed extensive networks of government and industry representatives from throughout Australia and especially in Canberra and Queensland.As Research Officer Macro-Economics, Eric undertook macro-economic analysis and forecasts for both Australia and the world for key macro indicators that included economic growth, exchange rates and inflation rates.
