Art professional with extensive background in collection management. Has worked as Registrar at Meadows Museum (Dallas), Curatorial Assistant at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (Photograph, Prints and Drawings), Gallery Director for three local galleries, and Museum Aide at Lincoln Home National Historic Site (Springfield, IL). Currently Inventory Manager for TYart LLC (Houston).Duties include management of 8k+ works of invaluable art in 35,000 sf warehouses, handling/moving, receiving/releasing works on a daily basis to staff/outside vendors, daily processing Bills of Lading and other paperwork including creating mass client inventories, creating/writing/editing company wide policies. Previous contributions have also been cited or included in books about international artist Sean Scully.Committee/board positions have included AAM Registrar's Committee, Houston Blues Society, and Houston Blues Museum.As an artist, I have work in over 30 private collections across the country, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Neiman Marcus, and Kraftsman Bakery.Curated more than 30 gallery and museum exhibits.In 2010, I founded the Lightnin' Hopkins Memorial Fund which resulted in the awarding of an official State of Texas Historical Marker honoring the life of the late musician. Currently the only other official state marker - a small plaque -also honoring a native son and blues musician is for Blind Lemon Jefferson, the Father of Texas Blues. The Hopkins marker is located at Emancipation Avenue (formerly Dowling Street) and Francis Street in Houston's Historic Third Ward.The Hopkins Memorial Fund became the Texas Blues Project. Research is conducted to locate and document the final resting places of African Americans associated with Texas blues music. If a grave is unmarked, TBP purchases or raises funds to provide grave markers. To date markers have been purchased, or otherwise funded, for Wilson "Thunder" Smith, Evelyn Johnson, Big Walter "The Thunderbird" Price, and Marion "Little Joe" Washington. There are many more graves to be located and graves to be marked, so the research continues.
