I graduated from Lake Superior State University with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science and minor in Business. Upon graduation, I began my career with Auto Owners Insurance Company before moving onto the Michigan Senate. I worked in Constituent Relations for Majority Leader Ken Sikkema and then became the Legislative Director for State Represenative Howard Walker. After Representative Walker was term limited, I became Senator Roger Kahn's Director of Constituent Relations and upon Howard Walker's successful election to the Michigan State Senate, I became his Chief of Staff. As his Chief of Staff, I provide advice and counsel on nearly all legislative and budgetary matters, including helping to manage Michigan's $13 billion+ School Aid budget. After Senator Walker decided to forgo a second term in the Michigan Senate, I became the Legislative Director for State Representative Holly Hughes in 2015. When Representative Hughes was termed limited, I was fortunate enough to be asked to be Representative Slagh’s Legislative Director.
