I have been involved in produce all my life. While it has not been my primary business ever, I have grown fruits and vegetables all my life. I grew up on a farm in Southern Door County, WI, where we grew Strawberries, Cherries, Apples, Raspberries and a variety of vegetables. Within the last ten years as other family members took over the Strawberry business, I have been "gardening" with vegetables at the family farm selling to some select restaurants and supplying our family with fresh grown vegetables. Living in Appleton, WI with my wife and son, I am slowly moving from the commercial farm to the urban organic gardening, to urban farming. I am using garden plots of friends and neighbors, in an urban environments to grow high quality vegetables. While I am not certified organic, I use organic techniques to produce high quality vegetables without the use of chemical products.
