Co-Op intern in the Pulp Mill/Power House divisions. I worked closely with the process engineers to learn the chemical processes the mill uses. I worked on water savings projects in the Pulp Mill by replacing water cooling systems with more efficient, water-friendly air cooling systems. I implemented a new piping system to eliminate 5,000lbs of Steam per hour by optimizing hot water usage from the evaporators. Using COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) tests, I was able to analyze the Bleach Plant chemical usage on a daily basis to determine what factors correlated to high, or low, chemical intake.

Intern for 2 summers at Chrysler’s Sterling Stamping Plant. I was a pressroom production supervisor in world’s largest automotive stamping plant. I was responsible for over 100,000 stampings daily. I supervised a team of over 40 employees in a high paced lean setting through the use of WCM principles. I helped to reduce pressroom injuries 15% through the use of WCM tools to determine the root cause of injuries leading to the implementation of countermeasures to ensure the injuries would not re-occur. Improved the quality record by a 30% margin on 2 press lines due to the implementation of autonomous maintenance that restores equipment back to basic condition.

Lead capital expenditure engineering projects with budgets totaling $200,000. Read and implement auto-cad prints. Interfaced with customers on site to ensure proper design and installation.
