I was recruited by CNA to run their West Express Commercial Claims office. The main issue I have had to tackle is employee turnover. Prior to my arrival at CNA, the office had experienced back to back years of 40+% turnover. I had one on one meetings with all my managers and skip level meetings with all the reps. Then we were able to develop a plan where we changed what was believed to be the ideal candidate and changed the way we interviewed all candidates. Lastly, we encouraged a grass roots effort of employee referrals and internal candidates. Year to date in 2016, our employee turnover is less than 10%. We did this all while maintaining strict quality standards.

I came to Farmers Insurance through the acquisition of AIG's Personal Lines Division. When AIG was first acquired, I led a team that ran off the AIG Agency Auto business as well as the Bristol West business, each of which were in different claims systems. As I transitioned into Farmer's, I became the litigation expert because of past experiences with litigation and my technical ability. By working directly with the branch legal office, supervisors and reps, we were able to more than double the number cases taken through trial while continuing to receive outstanding results. We did this by recognizing early the impediments to settlement and determining if the case was trial worthy.

I was recruited by AIG to open a new office in Westminster CO. I oversaw all operations for that office that handled claims in Northern Colorado. While at AIG, I took over the fire / theft group and Litigation group, leading both to "exceeds" corporate audits. I was also nominated to the Casualty Process Team that developed and implemented all casualty changes for Personal Lines Claims, specifically the rollout of Claim IQ, a claims mitigation program and WrExpert, a claims low impact tool.

I started at Progressive as a trainee. I learned liability, auto property damage, salvage, subrogation, arbitration, and casualty, including litigation. I quickly moved into a leadership role where I held several positions. Over the course of a dozen years, I led: small and large offices, direct repair programs, casualty groups, APD groups and was the State Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Manager. Although I enjoyed day to day claims, my talents tended to lean toward developing others and leading organizations while improving employee engagement.
