To support production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant and/or equipment. • Proven competence in pre-identified areas of the plant/equipment/systems • Understand and use the plant maintenance documentation system• Understand planning work management system• Relevant plant specific/basic process knowledge (defined per discipline)• Signed off job cards, permits, inspection checklists etc (evidence of documents). Conduct quality equipment/plan inspections. (Job cards initiated from inspection)• Work management adherence (can explain to Foreman).• Demonstrates applicable process knowledge (can explain the basic process)Technical/Operational/Functional results• Compliance of Safety Management Systems • Able to apply emergency procedures• Conducts relevant inspections • Do daily plant preventative inspection.• Conduct fault finding on mechanical equipment.• Apply basic rigging practices (overhead cranes, forklifts, chain blocks, lever hoist, come along slings,chain, hooks, shackles, eye bolts).• Interpret readings/measurements on relevant equipment.• Maintain mechanical valves (gate, butterfly, globe, ball, non return and diaphragm valves, plug valves,multi port valves).• Remove/replace maintain and repair gear boxes.• Bearing maintenance • Alignment of shaft couplings on pumps, gearboxes and compressors.• Maintenance of pumps and simple rotating equipment.• Maintenance and pressure testing of equipment (tanks).• Control valve, shut off valve, actuator maintenance.• Root cause analysis• Share knowledge with junior artisans in known environment/context.• Evidence of on-the-job informal knowledge sharing with junior artisans.
