Eric Eskioglu, MD is former EVP - Chief Medical & Scientific Officer for Novant Health. In this role, he provides strategic, clinical and cultural leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective and patient-centered care across Novant Health. Dr. Eskioglu oversees all medical staff, leads of 8 Novant Health Clinical Institutes and is Co-Executive Director for Novant’s Institute of Innovation and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Eskioglu joined Novant Health in 2015 as SVP of Neurosciences,, unifying processes and protocols to ensure a world-class experience for patients across Novant health. Dr. Eskioglu led Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in 2017 to earn the Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center designation making Novant Health one of a small group of healthcare systems, including Johns Hopkins and Mayo Clinic, that have two robust Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Centers.Before joining Novant Health, Dr. Eskioglu held several leadership roles and advancing neuroscience and medicine in various healthcare systems. Other roles include assistant professor of neurological surgery, neurosurgery, and radiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He practiced as a neurosurgeon and is widely published in multiple peer-reviewed scientific journals in the area of cerebrovascular surgery. Before his career in medicine, Dr. Eskioglu worked as an aerospace engineer at the Allied-Signal Aerospace and Boeing. He continues to apply his engineering background in efforts to streamline healthcare, decrease errors, and improve patient satisfaction. He is passionate about data analytics and artificial intelligence in healthcare applications. Dr. Eskioglu earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas, was a Pfizer Clinical Research Scholars fellow and an endovascular/vascular neurosurgery fellow at the University of Florida., and completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
