Eric Fallon leads the Bioprocess Development department within Vir's CMC Technical Operations/Process and Process Development function, focusing on setting the strategic vision and managing the bioprocess development groups for all product modalities - spanning early stage and late stage/commercial processes. Prior to his current role, Eric was responsible for Global Biologics Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSAT), Drug Substance as Head of the PTI Manufacturing function at Roche/Genentech. Eric previously led the Oceanside Product Operations Technology and Manufacturing Sciences groups upon Genentech’s acquisition of the Oceanside manufacturing facility in 2005, and prior to that managed the Cell Culture Manufacturing Sciences group within BioPharmaceutical Development at Biogen Idec, Inc. He began his career at Idec Pharmaceuticals within Cell Culture Process Development. Eric received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Eric has an M.S. in Chemical Engineering Practice from M.I.T., and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California-Berkeley.
